The Harpoon Point to Point presented by National Life Group is a charity cycling event created in 2002 to raise funds and awareness for the Vermont Foodbank’s mission to end the growing problem of hunger in Vermont.
Harpoon Brewery has partnered with Sport Trails of the Ascutney Basin (STAB) to add a new ride to the Point to Point this year: A 20-mile mountain bike ride including areas of the renowned Ascutney Trails network in Brownsville, VT. The rider registration fee is $80 (earlybird) + $150 minimum fundraising requirement (due by August 31st). Read more here.
The ride is a cross-country ride of approximately 20 miles, with scenic dirt road sections connecting lots of technical, classic Vermont singletrack. There's a selection of challenging trails with steady elevation gains, so strong intermediate or advanced mountain bike skills and fitness are required to take on this route. Well-stocked aid stations and a couple of short flat stretches will give you a chance to rest and recharge between climbs. Read more here.
